FBI Arrests Ormond Evangelist Luis Morales
Luis Morales, a Florida-based evangelist was taken into federal custody and accused of inappropriate contact with underage girls.
Morales is charged with transporting minors with the intent to engage in sexual activity.
Sources tell reporters that FBI agents arrested the 57 year-old at his home in Ormond Beach.
Morales is accused of bringing a child from Arizona to Florida and later to the Virgin Islands. He is also accused of molesting sisters 10 and 13 years old at his home. Another woman, Rebecca Rivera, has also been charged in the indictment.
Rivera is accused of taking a 12 year-old from Florida to Connecticut and back for the purpose of engaging in sex.
Morales runs En Fuego For Jesus, which means “On Fire for Jesus” at his Ormond home. Neighbors said they knew that Morales was holding religious gatherings next door. “We could hear him,” said his neighbor Mosley. “Yelling and the music through the windows.”
Morales and his wife, Linda, started ministering on the street in Daytona Beach several years ago and have since moved to out-of-state churches and some out of the county.
Morales is known as the Apostle Tito within the ministry.
Morales has a significant criminal history. He was arrested in 1998 for lewd and lascivious activity with a minor, that case was dropped. He also did 6 years for heroin trafficking in Connecticut.
